Happy PANAW 2025

Happy PANAW (PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week)!  This is our opportunity as a professional organization to celebrate our practice and come together to recognize the impact we, as PeriAnesthesia nurses, have with our patients, in our hospitals and working settings, lastly in our communities.  This year’s theme, PeriAnesthesia Nurses:  Innovation and Inspiration, is perfect as we acknowledge all the contributions that have been made in our specialty field.  Use this time to congratulate one another for being part of a select group that is going above and beyond to succeed in delivering wonderful, safe care as we continually push our limits to learn and inspire each other.

Attached is a proclamation from Governor Greg Abbott declaring Feb 3-9th as PeriAnesthesia nurses week!  Please share this proclamation with your colleagues as we honor one another for all of dedication and successes we have had over this past year.  As you celebrate, please capture these moments with pictures and share them with your region, TAPAN State, ASPAN, and ABPANC.  I am immensely proud of the strides we have made to become an elite organization striving to better ourselves and the care we deliver.  Thank you for all that you have done!

In honor of PANAW, ASPAN is offering (3) one-hour webcasts that are free to all members and non-members alike.  You can use this link https://learn.aspan.org/panaw-webcasts to register.  Each webcast is (1) CEU credit hour.  Please take advantage of this opportunity and share it with your coworkers. 

As President of TAPAN, and as we diligently work on the Gold Leaf Application to determine the Component of the Year, I realize how blessed we are to have so many of you volunteering for this organization to make it one of the leading components in ASPAN.  We are currently at 1108 members (an increase of over 10%) strong.  We do so much that is “right”, and we need to share this with others: and let them know the impact we have! 

 The following seminars are being offered in honor of PANAW:

• TAPAN North and East Region Saturday February 1, 2025, 8am-12noon
• TAPAN Hill Country Region Saturday February 8, 2025, 8am-1pm
• TAPAN UGCR Saturday February 15, 2025, 7:30am-3:00pm

ASPAN National Convention is in Dallas, TX (we are the host component) April 28-May 1, 2025.  And registration is taking place as we speak.  The cost is averaging  $7 per contact hour.  Take advantage of early bird registration.
